5 Years and Counting!

This past Saturday Curtis and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Friday night we went out to McCormick & Schmidt (our favorite seafood restaurant) with my parents who last Tuesday (7-29) celebrated their 36th anniversary. We had fun and ate great food, even though I didn't like it (thanks to the pregnancy). Saturday we kind of just hung out at home resting, well, I rested while Curtis took care of the kiddos for me. Sunday after church we dropped off the kids at my parents house and headed to the movies to watch "The Dark Knight" which, as everyone knows, is completely incredible! After that we went and checked in to "The Silver Cloud Inn" in Mukilteo which that is where we spent our first night together for our honeymoon! After taking an afternoon nap we headed out to dinner at "Glutton Jumpers" oops I meant to say "Clam Diggers" oops I did it again, Claim Jumpers. Being pregnant I didn't want to try something new and risk throwing my meal up.

We really did have a great time but the best part of all is when we got back to the hotel and watched a movie on pay-per-view. I don't know what it is exactly that I like about watching a newer movie that is still in the theaters in my own bed, but I love it! Curtis and I try to watch one every time that we stay in a hotel. On this particular night we watched "Prince Caspian" which I totally loved! Movie got over around 1:30am and we fell asleep to the crackle of the fireplace, the sound of the water hitting the beach (because our door was open) and to the coolness of the AC. Yes, you read that right. We had the fireplace set to turn on at 63 degrees and the air conditioning set to turn on at 67 degrees. It was perfect!

So, I look forward to the next year, and the next five years, and then the next 10, 20 30 years together. Curtis and I had a conversation about where we saw ourselves in 5 years. It came to me that in 5 years Hannah will be almost 9 years old!!!!! Ben will be 7 1/2 and the baby will be 4 1/2!!!! The BABY!!! The same baby that is causing me to puke almost daily will be going into preschool!!! That is insane!!!

It is great to reflect upon God's grace in marriage, and comparing our union to the union between Christ and His bride. Now obviously it is no where near the same because Christ loves His bride perfectly because He is perfect! I love Curtis, but he is not perfect, therefore, can't love me perfectly! But it is still a great thing to strive after! So, hopefully, in 5 years I will be blogging about our 10 year anniversary!!

Congratulations you two!!!! Haha...fireplace and AC, totally what I would do! God is amazing what he can do in 5 years time, I was thinking on that yesterday as I stared down at Glenn's little son hungrily eating his lunch. I have been so blessed and in ways I never imagined! May God continue to shower grace on your family Bekah! Love Erica Wainwright P.S. We also stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn the first night of our honeymoon, but it was the one in Tacoma.

Yeah, so I wish I could have been at your wedding to see you get hitched (and check out that HOT best man), but I wasn't invited (cough cough). Oh well, it was from good motives on said HOT man's part.

Anyway, YAY for your five year anniversary! God has done great things and provided you with wonderful children! I'm glad you got to hang out - it's funny how little things like the comfort of being next to each other and watching a movie mean so much. We love you guys!
