128

Can you believe that this is my 128th post!! Wowsers! I was thinking that it should be something monumental because I am also in the one28 ministries as a play on words. But yet nothing has happened recently. I am going to try to post more pictures and videos on here for the two people who actually read this! I sometimes like to fantasize that I actually have thousands of blog readers but only two people actually comment on anything, but then reality sets back in and I realize that my world is small and I like it small.

I am so thankful to be apart of the One28 staff again! Since the church split, Curtis and I volunteered to the elder board to be placed wherever they thought they needed us most in, and so, after a 6 month or so hiatus, we were put back into One28. The scheduling of the ministry remains the same but man, the heart of the ministry has changed, I feel so comfortable with this staff and the students that we have now. God has been so gracious to our ministry! Since the snow retreat we have had 5 professions of faith, one of whom I had been praying for years! How awesome is God! Curtis has been teaching on Sunday mornings through James and has been doing great! God, through the book of James has taught me a lot. One of the biggest things so far is found in James 3 regarding taming of the tongue.
The passage reads "3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. 4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.

How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, [1] and set on fire by hell. [2] 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, [3] these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

Curtis pointed out that the world expects Christians to have a certain speech let's call it salt water, but when a Christian opens it's mouth and fresh water comes spewing out of it, it is then pretty obvious what is really on the inside. It can't be hidden or disguised, there is no excuses to be found. I need to make sure that what is coming out of my mouth matches what I claim to be. Awesomeness!

FYI>>>I never know how to close out my posts.
